Sorry for my delay in providing a summary on the compatibility of Hyundai
clones.
We now have 4 Hyundai Sparc 2, and are going for the Sparc 10's.
All of our software (image processing, mapping, statistical, etc) works
fine.
Thanks to all who responded.
A summary of the replies follows. I may be leaving somebody's answer out.

Yes. I sell them as a VAR, so take my comments with the appropriate
provisos.

They are significantly cheaper. Allow various types of monitors from
SVGA (800x600) through standard Sun. The Sparc 10 clone has true Fast-
SCSI drive in it (Sun has the interface but fails to actually provide
a fast-SCSI drive to take advantage of it - amazing!).

No service org yet, but in works with third-party. (So is Sun even though
they call it Sun Field Service).

Nope.

They run SunOS "out of the box". Could not say the same about Solbourne
when I evaluated them some years ago. All apps run the same as Sun.
The Hyundai machines are "genetic clones" as far as apps are concerned.
I have not seen *any* app (that runs on a true Sun - of course <grin>)
fail on them ... Be warned that the Sparc 10 variety comes in two versions:
one is a true clone, the other is a compatible for people who don't need/want
ISDN, etc. The compatible has a fax-modem instead, etc.

They are great
We have three (2 Sparc 2 and 1 Sparc 10)
Go for them.
All of ours are headless. I cannot tell
you anything about their monitor quality.

I'm running a Hyundai Sparc 2 clone, 525MB internal with 1.5 GB external disks,
and a 19" color monitor, 32 Meg Ram, CD reader. Have had it two months - no
problems at all - runs all my software - mostly propietry numeric intensive
C-code, and some X stuff. Very happy, although the noise from the fan is
a bit loud! Am upgrading to a Hyundai Sparc 10.
