Well once again this list has come through with flying colors.
Although I did recieve several answers that conflicted with
each other.
Basically, the solution appears to be the addition of the -nosunview
option. The command line that I ended up using is:
openwin -nosunview -dev /dev/cgsix0 left -dev /dev/cgsix1 right
and everything is fine.
By the way, this is an unsupported option according to the GX
installation manual. But is seems to work great.
