        Original question:

"I would like our site to have messages when a person "ftps" in, like most systems. How is this done?"

Answer, replace ftpd with a different one. A couple of different programs were sugested, the most common was the wuarchive version of ftpd, below are a couple of places it can be found:

1) wuarchive.wustl.edu:/packages/ftpd.wuarchive.shar

2) sunsite.unc.edu

3) ftp.uu.net
