The filesystem format was changed from 4.0 to 4.1. A lot of people
suggested that fsck -c might work. If that doesn't fix it, Dieter
Muller <dworkin@merlin.rootgroup.com> suggested that I should try restoring
newfs/mkfs from 4.0 backup and run fsck again. In the mean time, I found
4.0.3 tapes from someone here and things were back to normal. Time
constraints forced me not to try your suggestions. Thanks for your
valuable suggestions. The following people responded to my
