SUMMARY: what's up with http://www.sunfreeware.com?

We have a few alternatives for http://www.sunfreeware.com:

1. opencsw.org.
It is easy to install and works like RedHat's yum where all dependencies get
installed along with the package so no more searching.

2. Use the
http://unixpackages.com site which is the Sunfreeware author's (Steven
Christensen) 'for pay' site. It not all that expensive at just $20 for 'lite
user' and it goes up to $100 for unlimited downloads. The Solaris 10 stuff is
still free (for now).

3. My situation was that I needed to fix a system that
I inherited and needed to uninstall some x86 packages. Then I needed to get
the sparc versions to replace the x86 ones. By the way and for now, IF YOU
GOOGLE a specific package file, you should be able to find it. Most of the
time it'll be on NON-US site. Nonetheless, I'm up and running now.

Thanks
for your replies,
chuck

Sun Admins,
As I am now only an
occasional sun system admin, I had a
need to access some older Solaris 9 sparc
packages off of http://www.sunfreeware.com/. When I try to get a Solaris 9
package, I get this message:

=================

Support for these packages
has been discontinued on
Sunfreeware. Please Visit our New Website
UNIXPackages.com

UNIX packages provides full package support for all levels
of Solaris from 2.5, 2.6, 7, .... through to our *NEW* Solaris 11 SVR4 style
packages. Be advised that the packages on UNIX Packages are only available
through a paid subscription service, as this new site is not sponsored by any
third party.

=================

I understand that Sunfreeware has a right to
discontinuing storing
these. However, I see the mirrors are
either are down
or have the same message. Anyone know what the story is here?
