Summary: Patchadd 138866-01 failed with checkinstall script did not complete successfully

Permission problem, i have the same sometimes.
Bugid : http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=1236491
- Put in /etc/passwd :
install:x:0:1:User for Install Patch:/:/bin/true
- Apply the patch
- Remove the install user from /etc/passwd

a simple reading indicates that the patch is already installed!  w00t!
w00t!  let's install it again!
