Thanks each and every who send me suggestions...
I got this suggestion from Mr Xu Ying which solved my problem..

You need to make sure that you have correct netmask.
If the other servers have broadcast of
Your netmask should be (ffffff00). You could change both
and broadcast from command line:

Ifconfig eri1 netmask broadcast + up

Hi all,

I have a strange problem...i have sunfire v240 box and when i ran
ifconfig -a command its showing wrong broadcast address

eri1: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 3
       inet netmask fffffe00 broadcast
       ether 0:3:ba:a2:44:3

the rest of the servers which are the same network showing broadcast
i tried changing broadcast address by assining the ipaddress again and with
ifconfig <int> broadcast <broadcast> ...
i checked the /etc/netmasks the netmask is only...
but those are not working..can anyone tell me command to change
broadcast with out rebooting the box

I will post summary
Thanks in advance
