SUMMARY:how to search special character in vi

Thanks to Karyn Williams's reply.

Since my goal is to remove all the special character
in the file.

Here is one of the solutions:


:%s/[^ -~]/ /g

I just globally search and replace whatever characters
that is not in the range from space to ~ with space.

And it works.
