I asked:

> Does anyone know about the Solaris 8 patch 117000-01? The README and the
> patch description indicate it is a kernel patch, but if so why is it not
> the next version of 108528, the kernel patch for Solaris 8...

The answer:

108528 was getting too cumbersome. The last revision, -29, was over
40 megs in size. So 117000 is the new Solaris 8 kernel patch series, and
it only has incremental changes since 108529-29.
Sunsolve docid 57489 has all the details.
