Thanks Chipman and others.

Question:

I herited a storedge T3 (Fiber Optic) array.

My question is can I attach the Storedge T3 to one of the following severs:

Netra T1 105 box
Sunblade 150 box
Ultra 5 box

And if so ,Storedge being FD what kind of card or adapter is recommended ?

FROM Chipman:

You need an FCAL HBA, you can determine the exact part Sun would
recommend with a visit to sunsolve.com and checking the T3 specs in the
online handbook.

We've got a T3 here and when we first were testing a loaner from Sun
prior to purchase, we installed the PCI FCAL HBA Card in an Ultra5, a
Blade100, and an E450 for testing purposes. It worked fine in all cases,
although I believe you get better performance (bandwidth) when using
64-bit PCI slots (absent in U5/blade100 ; present in E450 in our case).

Only big requirement was to read the install manual for the T3, which
describes various patches that are required for specific Solaris
versions/revisions. It was important to install appropriate patches,
shutdown the box, install the HBA, "reboot -r", and subsequently we
could see the T3 as a standard drive under the "format" command. Pretty
straightforward.

Setting up the raid array itself to another config requires that you
connect to the host via telnet ; first you must RARP an IP address onto
the beast, not instantly trivial to do but certainl very doable if you
read the manual and follow the directions. Typically sun ships T3
bricks with a single raid5 volume I believe (ie, all drives in the raid
5 array, no hotspare defined). Depending on the config setup by the
previous owners it may (or may not) be configured thus.

You can get these manuals also from sun online in PDF format.

Good luck, hope this helps.
