It's a required file that lives in /var/sadm/install/admin/ called
"default". Premissions should be -r--r--r-- and owned by root and group
sys.

You can create one also and use the -a option to pkgadd.

The default contains:

#ident  "@(#)default    1.4     92/12/23 SMI"   /* SVr4.0  1.5.2.1      */
mail=tim@pobox.com
instance=unique
partial=ask
runlevel=ask
idepend=ask
rdepend=ask
space=ask
setuid=ask
conflict=ask
action=ask
basedir=default

(from Solaris 8 but it is thae same for other Solaris versions.)
I put my email address in it so that I get mail everytime a package is
added to my machine. (you can leave it null)

All,

280R
Solaris 8

Can anyone help me figure out why one of my boxes give the following error
when I try to add a package?

pkgadd: ERROR: unable to open admin file <default>

Works great on the other four boxes.......

Thanks
