I was wrong, actually information about soft partitions for SDS 4.2.1
is available from manpages, but not in AB documentation, where I searched
for it.
Also there is info on

Just several things to summary the topic :
1. soft partition are the part of the new version of SDS, 4.2.1 with patch
2. when you have soft partition you can't use metatool UI, just command line
3. information about soft partition is in man page of metainit and

the creation of the soft partition is quite easy

1. Using disk c1t1d0s0 to allocates 2Gb for soft partition
	metainit <new soft partition> -p c1t1d0s0 2Gb
	where <new soft partition> can be d1, d2, etc

2. Using metadevice
	metainit <new soft partition> -p d100 2Gb

thanks for very fast responce to :

Subject: Soft Partitions with Solstice DiskSuite 4.2.1

Hi All !

I need assistance regarding new version of the Solstice DiskSuite 4.2.1
According to announce from DiskSuite 4.2.1 has
support for soft partitions ( logical volumes ).
But I can't found more detailed description about this feature and haw to
define soft partitions with SDS 4.2.1. The maximal that I found is "For
documentation, please see the product manpages." but product manpages
doesn't contain information about it.

Please, if somebody heard where is description of the usage of this feature
or uses it let me know haw I can to define soft partitions using SDS 4.2.1
for Solaris 8/SPARC
