SUMMARY: backup SunOS 4.1.4 machine

Thanks for the responses from many sun managers.

The backup problem which I encounted is due to the misleading information
which dump provides and the missing parameters to dump. The problem is
solved after I ignore those rewind messages and adding the parameters.

Rgds,
Kenneth Cho

Subject: backup SunOS 4.1.4 machine

Dear all,

Thanks for the reply from many sun mangers. To make it simplier, I'd
like to rephase the problem and hope you may have some idea. I'm
backing up a SunOS 4.1.4 machine to a remote tape drive at Solaris 2.6.
However, it's found that the tape rewinded after each file as shown
below..

Do you have any idea about the issue? Is there any workaround that I may
backup all files (filesystems) in one tape in this situation.

Many thanks in advance..

Rgds,
Kenneth Cho
