Thanks to all who responded, but it was Steve Hastings who actually came up
with the answers for me! Here was the original post:
Hello fellow Managers!
I just had a disk crash and the only drive I could get today was a new
Seagate Cheetah ST 318404LC Drive. This is 18GB, 10K RPM and has the
correct SCA connector. Even plugs in really nice. Only problem is, format
doesn't see it! Here's the layout:
I did a touch /reconfigure before the init 0 and when I installed and came
back up I got a message that said:
WARNING: /pci@1f,4000/scsi@3 (glm0):
Connected command timeout for Target 11.0
Needless to say, time is of the essence as I have the System down to fix
Thanks in advance, will summarize!
Several Folk told me to go to the OK prompt and do a probe-scsi, which I did
but it just took me down another error path (BUS FAULT) which I fixed thanks
to Steve with "setenv auto-boot? false and then a reset -r and finally a
probe-scsi. This time, the drive mysteriously showed up and I was able to
format and use it. WHEW!
Thanks for all of your prompt replies!
