SUMMARY (kind of): How to remove NIS from a client

I pulled my head out and started grepping for nis in /etc/rc*.d/* and
figured out what I think for the most part solves my problem ( gets rid of
nagging messages and hostname returns the real hostname instead of unknown
). But if someone knows the complete procedure in it's entirety, please
shoot me an email.
