for their quick and helpful responses. The consensus is that I don't
need to use the operating env CD. I only resorted to this after the 8/99
solaris 7 CD failed to boot/install. Also, the fact that the media-set
had an  important note from SUN  suggesting the operating environment CD
for 2.5.1/2.6/solaris 7, threw me off-course!!.
Anyway,as Reggie pointed out, I could have been using a bad CD. I'll try
the install with another 8/99 CD that we have.
