Thanks to Kent Perrier and Mohammad Matar for their responses.
The solution would be to acquire the cdrom which should contain the
driver for the cards. The previous sysadmin of the machine (we
inherited this from London) already left, leaving us no cdrom and any vendor
info of the cards. Unfortunately, we wiped out the OS not anticipating
re-installing the driver for the cards.
We might just replace the controllers if we don't get the drivers soon.
