LPRng looks like the overall favorite

Other tools were easyspooler which appears to be highly
customisable..

Hi Admins,

Can you advise on software (public domain, scripts, workarounds
or otherwise) that can extend print queue management functionality
on (SPARC) Solaris 2.5.1 and above.

The requirement is to be able to send print jobs to a queue, and to
delay servicing of some of these jobs and let others run. At some
point in time these 'suspended' jobs would be collated and run (by
a print administrator/ power user). The ability to rerun a single
'suspended' job multiple times from the queue itself without losing it
would be highly desirable. Automating the collation and running of
jobs by type (e.g. credit notes, PO slips etc) would be ideal....
