SUMMARY: again on DLT problem

the problem was in the tar syntax tar tvf /dev/rmt/1
instead of the GNU Tar I Was used to use

tar -tv -f /dev/rmt/1

anyway tar tvf /dev/rmt/1 does not show me anything it quits after a few
seconds so at the end it does not work.
I did the backups using gnu tar but anyway it should work if I test them
back with sun tar, but it does nt owork ot tell the truth and I dunno why.

I installed GNU tar and now everything works

thanks to all who helped me

Rick
