SUMMARY:Installing 17.2GB on SUN Ultra 10

Thank you for the responses with regards to my problem

There were a few suggestions but I could only try editing the format.dat
and using boot -r, both of which did not help.
It seems that the system could only support up to a maximum size of 8
or 9GB.

There are a few possibilities though
1. SUN firmware could be required for the hard disk
2. The version of OS (the os is 2.5.1 instead of 2.7, it was a mistake
on my part)
3. BIOS compatibility

I have tried to send a mail to SUN directly but there was no technical
support e-mail address available.

Need some advice regarding this matter.
Is there an way to configure a SUN Ultra 10 to accept a 17.2GB IDE hard
disk?

Problem Description
I'm trying to install an additional IDE hard disk (slave) on a SUN Ultra
10 workstation, however the system only detected a size
of 7.87GB instead of 17.2GB.
