Thanks to the following people who responded:

Although Bunny Pfau was the only one who confirmed my suspicions, my management
made the decision to apply patch 106561-08 (and all its prerequisites) and see
if the panic occurs again. The other suggestions are supplied here but did apply
to my situation. Patch 105797-06 was not applied since my box is a E5000.

Hi there,
One of our customer had similar panic (panic:recursive mutex_enter) after
upgrading form 2.5.1 to 2.6 ( it was on a sparc20 box)
installing 105797-06 patch got rid of the problem
hope this helps

I think it is not at all related to your upgrade for solaris 2.5.1 to
We also had the same error and it was found to be CPU module
problem, relpace and try.If your system has onboard CPU like Ultra1,you
have to replace the system board.
