My thanks to all who responded.

To upgrade the ROM requires purchasing a chip from sun, removing the old
chip and inserting the new one. The general consensus was that I may not
need to upgraded the ROM and I concur. I was concerned about oldness of
the revision, Y2K compliance and security bugs. None of the responses
indicated any problems with Y2K, security or oldness of the revision.
Thus I will not pursue the upgrade. Again, many thanks to all. May our
suns keep shining!

Cheers,
