Hi,

First thanks for the reply from:

Before I posted the question,
I had tried their suggestions which include:

1) Turn off the auto-negotiate at the 28115 switch and lock
it to full or half duplex.

2) Turn off the auto-negotiate at the workstation in /etc/system
and lock it to full or half duplex according to what you set
   on the 28115 switch.

set hme:hme_adv_autoneg_cap = 0
set hme:hme_adv_100fdx_cap = 1
set hme:hme_adv_100hdx_cap = 0

reboot the workstation after the /etc/system updated

3) change the switch port

4) reboot switch and workstation.

I had tried the above methods (inculding locking it into half duplex),
but the error message keeps coming.

However, the problem suddenly disappeared. All I had done was just
re-type the above three lines in /etc/system. (Orignially, I copy and
paste these three lines) and reboot the workstation. I don't know
if there are some hidden characters that screw up the setting. Anyways,
the error message does not appear again now.

BTW, my colleague also gets the similar problem on his ultra 5 on board
hme interface connecting to a 28115 switch with PROM version 2.11. Rare?
