For their helpful replies.

In the end I decided to uninstall NIS, make the changes, and reinstall.

No problems, and everyone is happy.

My original question follows.

I am running NIS (not NIS+) on a Solaris 2.5.1 server. It is the master server for the domain. The domain contains 2.5.1 and SunOS 4.1.3_U1 systems.

I need to change the name and IP address of the server.

What is the best approach? Is there an existing checklist document I can use as a guide?
