My original question:
I am in a quandary. I have several FDDI adapters which are not current.
For example: FDDI Single Attach 3.0 Sun part number: 595-3444. I'd like
to get them current. Does anyone have experience with an upgrade path for
these? Are there software upgrades available for them? Are the older
boards useless because of rev levels even if I get software?

Those boards will work with the Sunlink FDDI 5.0 software in the older Sun
machines. The UltraSPARC machines require the version 5 boards, but
sun4c/4d/4m boxes will accept the 3.0 boards with the 5.0 software.
