SUMMARY-root password

Thanks to everyone who replied, most within 30 minutes of my posting. I've
been so busy, wasn't able to summarize until now. In essence, I had a
SparcStation Voyager portable that needed to be made ready to go to Korea
for software integration. It had been several years since it was used, and
nobody remembered the password. Solution:

Most everyone said to boot CD-ROM and mount the root filesystem and null
out the /etc/shadow entry. This would have been great, but I had no
external CD-ROM handy, NOR did I have the Solaris 2.3 CD needed. What DID
happen is we got ahold of a guy who used to work here, and is now an OCL
for us, now in LA and asked him. He was one of the three going to take
this to Korea. At first he gave me 3 possibilities and they didn't work.
I reminded him that he last used this in Korea, and might he have used some
Korean name for the password. He said, "Yes! I sure did" and we tried a
few until we found the one it was. As it turned out, it was kim.chi. Very
funny. Anyway, I got in, formatted an extra external disk and loaded the
Telesoft ADA compiler and files needed to go.

Thanks again to everyone, WAY too numerous to mention or the list would end
up a novel!
