Hi,

Well. This is only a partial summary. I received no replies to my request.
Maybe it was just too basic or not properly described or something - I don't
know.

I've temporarily solved the problem by turning off the MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1
user based client authoritation by copying /usr/dt/config/Xconfig to
/etc/dt/config/Xconfig and setting:

                Dtlogin*authorize: False

It works now, but the situation is still rather unsatisfactory for me
because:

1.) I don't know why our application was not accepted by Xsun
(Message: Connection to ":0.0" refused by server) while other
applications like Netscape, run just fine without setting the
    local hostname with xhost.

2.) I don't know why MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 did not work! I've tried the
    following:

    - remove .Xauthority and do a fresh login
    - "xauth list" shows:

    local-host-name.tu-graz.ac.at:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 43444a4d515451505ab22e7168307134
    local-host-name/unix:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 43444a4d515451505a422e7168307134

It just did not let our application connect!

I am running Solaris 2.6. with the recommended Patch cluster as of
Sep/01/98.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks // Tom
