My original question was :

I am trying to connect a Sun SCSI CD-ROM drive to a Sun Sparc Station IPC
and not having any luck.
Does anyone know a simple way to do this? I have tried connecting it and
rebooting and also tried MAKEDEVICE.
The answer was to either reboot -r
or touch reconfig
