SUMMARY: Solstice Backup 5.0.1 patch(es)?

I had asked about a patch I had seen mentioned for Solstice Backup 5.0.1, yet
when I visited sunsolve, I found no patches listed for 5.0.1.

Sun Support is making this patch available on request, when you call them, from
their blind ftp site. They claim rev -03 of the patch, 105658, is released but
has just not yet made it into the sunsolve patch system. Rev -04 is currently
being tested and should be released "soon", though I suspect it will be another
"blind" release. I'm a bit concerned about the release status of this patch, but
I have applied it and the early results look good.

attached mail follows:

I have had one instance of a problem with my Solstice Backup 5.0.1 server
indexes being partially corrupted. There appears to be a patch mentioned back at
the end of February, 105658, that appeared to address this problem.

Has anyone seen this or any other patch available for Solstice Backup 5.0.1? I
can't find it. Given the "newness" of the 5.0.1 release, and the experience of
having already had one instance of index corruption in roughly 5 weeks of
operation, I am quite nervous running without this patch.

A visit to Legato's web site shows a number of patches available for their
version of Networker for Solaris 5.0.1. Some of these appear quite relevent to
what I've encountered. Yet none seem to have made it through Sun's repackaging
process into Solstice Backup?

TIA,
Marc
