Here is the summary of pointers for installing an IOMEGA ZIP 100
drive on a Solaris 2.5.1 system. My sincerest apologies for losing the
list of everyone that replied. There were many contributors and they
were all very helpful and I am sincerely appreciative.

Just about everyone that responded recommended that the /etc/format.dat
must have the correct entries. The entry that needs to be included in
the /etc/format.dat file can be found at:

         http://www.iomega.com/support/techs/zip/2019.html

These instructions need to be followed exactly.

Trying to mount the ZIP disk as pcfs won't work. This was one of my mistakes.
To be able to write to a DOS formatted disk, GNU mtools are needed.

Mtools can be found at:

        ftp://prep.ai.mit.edu/pub/gnu/mtools-3.6.tar.gz
        ftp://linux.wauug.org/pub/knaff/mtools/mtools-3.6.tar.gz
        ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/utils/disk-management/mtools-3.6.tar.gz

This was enough information to get me up and running, so I stopped here.
Other Web sites that were recommened were:
