My question was:

I forgot to mention that my users ware using terminal ( simple telnet,
non GUI ), and programming in Cobol ( Microfocus Cobol ).
Well, the solution was "tbox", a full screen (character oriented) editor
that comes bundled(?) with Microfocus Cobol.

You might also want to take a look at "nedit" (ftp.fnal.gov in the
/pub/nedit directory). It's a GUI type editor that is very easy to
use, and casual users, such as our "PC users" love it. The only
drawback
is that it requires Motif :( and doesn't support OpenLook).

Yes. You can get SEDIT from TreeHouse Software. They also have
S/REXX.

I think it's one of the nicest GUI editors for Unix...
