hi all,
after reading the first answer to my question i wondered why nobody came
to blow me away. but all that came where xx friendly responses to my
question.
here are my original questions:

the answer to the first question was easy. as i never used to have a cdrom
drive before i simply forgot to think that it already uses scsi id 0.
the answer to the second question (done by Michael Sullivan):
"This is really two separate messages, although the second one is
probably
a side-effect of the first. The first one means that the Sun didn't get a
response back within the expected time from the device at SCSI id 6, which
could be easily explained if you have both a CDROM drive and a hard disk
drive
configured to use that same id. The second message says that some command
sent to disk sd0 failed because the SCSI bus was reset, which was probably
done as a result of the previous error."
