You can manage an NIS+ environment with flat files
as well, using nisaddent to read in any changes. The
only map I would not use a map file for is shadow, since
users are continuously changing this map.

No Sun-supplied solution. NIS+ stores its data in database structures,
not flat-files -- revision control becomes harder.
