Ofcourse us been system admins its easy, we just sometimes we have those
metal blocks :)
Works sunos and solaris.
1. as 'root', `ifconfig -a` will give you the ethernet address
of all Ethernet cards:
examples:
o ifconfig -a
o ifconfig -a | grep thernet
Works solaris (not too sure about the results in sunos).
2. as anybody or root use `arp`
examples:
o arp -a | grep `hostname`
o arp `hostname`
o host2% ping host1
host1 is alive
host2% arp host1
host1 (aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd) at 8:0:20:xx:xx:xx
