Hello folks..

I finally got the answer i wanted... NO. :)

This is maybe due to the fact I may not made myself
entirely clear about my question, but I thanks all
the people who answered.

Here is the original question...

Answers:

ALl the nameservers listed in "IN NS" are authorative and I know
that...it wasn't the question.

Robert Bannocks <R.Bannocks@kingston.ac.uk> pointed a straight
answer and probably was the only person who understood me..??
(or I didn't understand the answers?? )

his answers were....
--------------------------------------------------------------
> how does the parent domain know which one is the SOA for
> son1.parent.domain ??
>
It dosen't

> I mean...as far a I know..dns1, dns2 and dns3 are just agree

Well no The domain will be deligated to a responsible person or
orginisation
who will specify which hosts dns[123] are and have administrative
control
over them and thus make them well behaved.> in other words...doesn't the
parent domain specifically delegates

> a domain to a certain dns-server and the others are secondary.???
>
NO

> if not...What prevents dns3 saying that HE is Primary and

Nothing.
------------------------------------------------------------------

CONCLUSIONS:

1.- The parent does CAN NOT efectively CONTROL who is SOA for
one of it's subdomains, except in the following case..

make the parent a secondary of all its subdomains and obtain
the database from the IP YOU delegated the subdomain to.

2.- If 2 DNS servers say that THEY are SOA for a subdomain..
what happens?? (twilight zone)

if the parent does (1), than nothing happens.

3.- DNS is still a nice-and-friendly Protocol..imaging me as a BOSS and
not knowing who is SOA for my departments..??

Thanks to all the people who replied and took the time.
