SUMMARY: ufsdump 2.5.1

Original question:
I just upgraded one of my 1000's to Solaris 2.5.1, now when I do my
nightly backup I have a problem when the autoloader changes tape.
The tape drive is on a 2.4 machine and I issue a
        rsh $machine -l $user -n ufsdump 0uldsbf 54000 13000\
            126 $tape_host:$tape_drive $file_system 2>&1 | tee -a $log

this script has worked for solaris 2.3 and 2.4. When ufdsump detects
end of tape under 2.4 I would see
          DUMP: End-of-tape detected
           DUMP: Mounting volume #2

NOW with 2.5.1 I get
          DUMP: End-of-tape detected
           DUMP: permission denied
DUMP: Cannot connect to tape host `tape_host'
DUMP: The ENTIRE dump is aborted.
          DUMP: Writing 63 Kilobyte records
DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Sat Nov 23 09:28:17 1996
DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch
           DUMP: Dumping /dev/rdsk/c1t1d0s6 (tape_host:/export/xxx) to tape_host:/dev/rmt/0mn.
DUMP: Mapping (Pass I) [regular files]
           DUMP: Mapping (Pass II) [directories]
DUMP: Estimated 893806 blocks (436.43MB) on 0.11 tapes.
DUMP: NEEDS ATTENTION: Cannot open `tape_host:/dev/rmt/0mn'. Do you want to retry
the open?: ("yes" or "no")
DUMP: The ENTIRE dump is aborted.

however the tape does change and eventually ufsdump does start dumping again,
but /export/xxx is not backup.

Has anyone else seen this problem ? Any help would be appreciated.
I will summarize.

I really do not have an answer as to what happen, however I switched to
a different tape drive on a different 2.4 machine and everything works
fine. The only thing I can think of is that the 2.5.1 machine is not
in the same domain as the machine with the old tape drive. I don't
know why it would have work when the machine was running 2.4 and not
with 2.5.1. Well I have a work around for now. If I learn anyting
more I will update you.

I would like to thank Dan A. Zambon and Charlie Mengler for there input.
I hope I did not forget to thank anyone.
