Yet again the sun-managers list comes through in record time!
I only posted the problem this morning and I have a solution
already.

The original question was;

> We have just taken delivery of our first UltraSPARC 1 machine from
> SUN which will be used as a corporate database server. The machine
> arrived a few days ago and the ORACLE software will be installed
> next week!

========================================================================

Several people suggested to add the /etc/hostname.le0 file and do then
do a reboot -r. I had already tried that and it didn't solve the problem
just added an extra error message in the boot sequence.

Suggestions were also to set "tpe-link-test?=true" at the OK prompt. I
had already done this as well with no success.

The real star was Anthony Worrall who pointed me at /usr/sbin.sys-unconfig.
This effectively removes the current configuration and reboots the
machine. Requires you to set up the hostname, IP, etc all over again but
that sorted the problem out finally. Man pages exist for sys-unconfig,
sys-config & sysidtool. The "test net" still fails - don't know why.

Thank you Anthony!

Dr Peter Watkins.
