Hi!
I found the answer for both of my problems. It's the buggy
"nslookup" that comes with sunos. Please replace it with
bind 4.9.3 distribution both problems should go away.

My primary name server acting strangely. This is a dual-homed
(2 network interfaces) DNS server and firewall machine.
When I do "nslookup" i get ..
Default Server: hostname.domain.com
Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xx
even i have my /etc/resolv.conf file like...
domain domain.name
nameserver 127.0.0.1
I believe "nslookup" should report "localhost.domain.name" with
"127.0.0.1" ip address as default DNS server.
I have another DNS server internally which works as it supposed
to.
Also reverse name lookups doesn't work right. When I resolve any
hostname it gives me the correct ip address. When I try to resolv
ip address it doesn't give me the name in the Name: field.
Something like...
> hostname1
Server: hostname.domain.com
Address: fff.fff.fff.ff (DNS default server ip address)
Name: hostname1.domain.com
Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xx (hostname1's ip address)
> xxx.xxx.xxx.xx ( ditto )
Server: hostname.domain.com
Address: fff.fff.fff.ff (DNS default server ip address)
Name: [xxx.xxx.xxx.xx] <<<<=== here is my problem
Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xx

I have all the A, NS, SOA, PTR records set correctly. I have
checked again and again.
If it matters the machine is SUN running 4.1.3 with latest
bind.
