admintool as we knew it under 2.4 has been replaced with a stripped
down version in 2.5. This bare bones version can be used for stand
alone system administration (passwd,hosts,group,printers,serial

Under 2.5, admintool has been replaced with Solstice AdminSuite, which
provides for all the usual stand-alone stuff, plus powerful network
administration functionality (NIS+ control in a GUI!). Most responders
said that AdminSuite had to be purchased separately. Not so! I called
SunExpress to determine the price and they informed me that AdminSuite
is included in the 2.5 Server distribution on its own CDROM. I looked.
It was.

All responders recommended AdminSuite for system adminstration tasks,
except for one who liked the new /usr/bin/admintool better than the
old. One response warned NOT TO USE the bare-bones admintool due to
buggy performance and possible corruption of system files.
