Subject: Re: Whats a ring Buffer?
A ring buffer is the small buffer associated with the UART chip that
drives the serial port. On most Suns there are 4 serial ports, zs0 and
zs1 (associated with ttya and ttyb), zs2 and zs3 associated with the
keyboard and mouse).
When the system hangs if you type on the keyboard or move the mouse
this generates a series of characters on the serial port. If the system
is hung then the driver can't run to drain the data from the UART and
the UART signals an error that there were some characters lost.
In your case this is probably a message that you can ignore. Sometimes
you can also get the same effect if yo move the mouse when the system
first starts to boot.
