The major difference is 2.5.1 has support for multi-processing ultras.

My undersanding is that 2.5.1 is 2.5 with Ultra support.
From: Dave Zavatson <firstname.lastname@example.org>
The big difference is that you need 2.5.1 if you are running an ultra.
2.5 does not work on ultras.
Other than that, no big difference.

2.5.1 helps with Ultra 2 Creator3 machines and Creator3D machines.
In addition, WABI now runs Native on Solaris x86.
CDE now supports drag and drop properly, and a better installer.
Energy Star is nicer.
the Admin suite is nicer.
The Backup program is slicker.
From: "Boyd C. Fletcher (sysadmin)" <firstname.lastname@example.org>
2.5.1 fixes a few bugs and has support for Creator3d graphics, Ultra 2, and
the new Ultra Enterprise servers
