Hi!!

Thanks (a lot ;-) to

Hi!

I have SCSI differential drive from R-Squared. I tried to move this from one
machine to another (both Sparc 10 and SunOs 4.1.3_U).

I got the following message after each SCSI device on bootup:
runpoll-timeout on polling

I do not get these messages on the first machine. Does the second machine
need a differential cable? Is there anything else I am missing?

Also, I know that total cable length should not be "too long". How long is
too long?

I did make sure that:
Connectors are tight
Termination is okay

Thanks a lot for you help,
Rasana

You need a differential controller!

A differential driver needs both a controller and a cable capable of
differential SCSI.

The SCSI connections built-in on all Sun's is non-differential.
