My original question:

>I'm trying to install Windows3.1 under Wabi2.0 from floppy disk
>onto a Sparc4. Regrettably the Sparc4 has no floppy drive
>(only a cdrom) and is the only machine here with memory ample enough
>to run Wabi. Is it possible to transfer the floppy drive from
>an IPC to the Sparc Station4? or perhaps copy the windows3.1 software
>onto the hard disk and install it from there? any other ideas would
>also be appreciated.

The resounding response was to copy the all files onto hard disk into either
a single directory (as all the files on all the setup disks have unique names)
or copy the floppies into separate directories disk1, disk2, etc.. Then use
the browse option and point towards that directory and run setup from there.

I followed the path of least resistance and copied all the files into a single
directory and all went smoothly, if not, fastly!

One person commented on swapping the floppy drive from an IPC thus:

If the part number of the floppy drive is 370-1419 (triple density) YES
you can. BUT it could be the 370-1354 (dual density), which will not
work. There should be a sun part number on it, just look and see.

I'd like to thank all those for their generous reponses!
