Hi Managers
I would like to thank all managers who responded to my
   problem of Sparc20 not rebooting.

>Hi Managers
> I installed Solaris 1.1.1b on my Sparc 20 from the cdrom and managed to
> reboot from the harddrive successfully.
> Today, after I installed Oracle v6.036 and moved the sparc to a different
> location, I coul not get it to boot up from the harddrive.
> I get the following message on the console,
> /etc/rc: /etc/rc: No such file or directory
> -: stty: not found

As everyone pointed out, I had corrupted the /etc directory.
Vikas pointed me in the right direction when he suggested that the
partitions could be overlapping. Indeed, this was the case
so when I was installing Oracle, it was overwriting the /etc directory.
I managed to reboot off the cdrom, mount /etc from another host and copy
the necessary files.(and relink them).

Thanks again to the following managers for their quick responses (Art Hebert) Chris Swanson) (Stephen Potter) (Mark S. Anderson)

and to anyone else I have missed out
