  # Ftp and telnet are standard Internet services.
   #
   ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/etc/in.ftpd in.ftpd
   telnet stream tcp nowait root /usr/etc/in.telnetd in.te lnetd
-> pop stream tcp nowait root /usr/etc/popper popper
-> pop2 stream tcp nowait root /usr/etc/popper popper
  #
  # Tnamed serves the obolete IEN-116 name server protocol.
  #

This assumes popper is the pop client. Use whatever you have. And then put
the following in /etc/services

   domain 53/tcp
   hostnames 101/tcp hostname # usually to sri-nic
-> pop2 109/tcp
-> pop 110/tcp
   sunrpc 111/udp
   sunrpc 111/tcp
   #

Restart inetd - Thats it. This assumes BSD style 4.X.X
