This was a tough one I guess :-)

Only one reply but with a working solution :-)

Thanx Doug:

Marcel,

I've been using the following syntax in the "auto.home" file and NIS map
on a SPARCstation 1 running SunOS 4.1.3 with patch 100249-09 installed:

os2host -rw,intr &:"d:\\"

I tried this without 100249-09 on a 4/280 on 4.1.1 and on a IPX running 4.1.3 and it worked fine
So I guess this is just a misunderstanding about quotation and escape tricks:

blurb from my /etc/auto.home NIS server:

os2_1 &:"d:\\"
os2_2 &:"e:\\"
os2_3 &:"e:\\"
os2_4 &:"e:\\"
