Sorry. I forgot some important information.
He's doing this on a Sparc 10. I believe the OS is 4.1.2 or 4.1.3.

Thanks!

I have a user in the field who is trying to hookup an Exabyte 8205ST
tape drive to his machine. The file we need to change is
/sys/scsi/targets/st_conf.c. I am not really familiar with setting up
hardware, ESPECIALLY tape drives. Below is the entry I found for the
models 8200 and 8500. I suppose I just have to make a couple of minor
changes to make the 8205ST work. I couldn't find this in the FAQ.
Anybody know?

Thanks...Doris.

SOLUTION==============>

My user says this:
Hi Doris,

    I have tried the entry attributed to Exabyte Tech Support (the first
    one you sent). It sems to work fine. The previous entry I was
    using worked for the most part but I would sometimes get read
    errors. I have not recieved any read errors with the present entry.

Entry I am using:
/* Exabyte 8mm 2.3GB w/compression cartridge (half high) */
{
    "Exabyte EXB-8205 8mm Helical Scan", 16, "EXABYTE EXB-8205",
    ST_TYPE_EXB8500, 1024,
    (ST_VARIABLE|ST_BSF|ST_BSR|ST_LONG_ERASE),
    5000, 5000,
    { 0x14, 0x0C, 0x90, 0x0C },
    { 0, 0, 0, 0 }
},

Thanks,
Mike
