Howdy Fellow Sun-Managers:

Very Sorry it has taken me so very long to reply to my SLIP/PPP dilemma.
However, crisis after crisis has prevented me from providing everyone with
this info.

Background:

We have looked at various solutions for providing us with some real time
network access for very remote sites. One such project has involved
a SLIP connxn for a Marine Biological Vessel we have floating just off
the coast of the Antarctic Peninsula. I looked at and attempted to
install a couple of SLIP packages. The 2 packages were SLIP4.0 and
SLIP4.1. I had great trouble actually getting these packages to function
properly.

Our Solution was PPP-1.2 this PD SW can be found at shiva.com. It is a
loadable module < which is much more convenient >, and we liked the idea
of being able to use PPP at speeds up to 38K vs 9600. This will definitely
come in handy when we get a B channel 56k sat connexn within the next year.

Thanks Everyone and once again, I apologize for being late ...

Scott Surguine
