The correct procedure is to turn the unit off, press L1-N, and turn the unit on.
Continue to hold L1-N until the video display comes up (Sun Logo, etc.).
This only works on Open Boot PROM Version 2.0 & up.

L1-N resets all parameters EXCEPT "security-mode" and "security-password."
