SUMMARY: lockd/statd problems

Thanks to all who responded to my call for
lockd help. The consensus was that is was
indeed the lockd patch that would fix it.
I installed it on both machines at noon today,
and we haven't had any trouble since then.
Time will tell...

As for the statd problem, everyone suggested
that I look in /etc/sm.bak and remove the files
named for the machines that statd couldn't contact.
I had looked at sm and sm.bak before, but I wasn't
sure if I could remove the files with impunity.
I need to kill rpc.lockd, remove the files, then
wait a few seconds and restart rpc.lockd. Some
people recommended that I be prepared to reboot
if necessary, so I'm not willing to try it until
early tomorrow morning.
